The Flood and other exciting life issues

New year. New Resolutions. Actually, same ole resolutions as last year. That's always motivating! Not. This year, I didn't write them down though. Too depressing. One I AM excited about is doing my first triathlon. That's a new one for me so maybe that's why I like it. Maybe more on that on a later date.

Scrapbooking. Ahhh. My old lover. How I miss you. And I just found out about Becky Higgins' Project 365 and am really wanting to do it. In fact, I even tried to buy it, but I guess it's not available right now. Something about moving it to Amazon or something. It's not as daunting as some other projects.

Also, if you look at my links I have Faith Sisters on there and I just made a long overdue visit to their site. They are doing a Lifetime story challenge. I have my eye on that one too! Now, just to get the scrap room organized again.

We had a flood. It sucks. Bad enough to cause us a TON of work and wasted time, but not enough to really get us anything new. (well, new carpet, but that's about it) I know it is the perfect opportunity to get organized, but that doesn't mean I am looking forward to it. I have enough on my to do list already.

Okay, so this post has been really choppy and unflowingish. Yeah, that's a word I just made up. I'm sure you figured that out.

Anyway, off to work on my Motivated Moms list. Gonna try posting some flood pics on here. It's been so long, I'm not sure if I remember how....

The Bachelor

I soooooooo totally do not have the time for this, but I miss blogging!

The Bachelor started last week and I just had to watch. I watched Jillian's season and I just looked forward to it every week. I was never a big Jake fan - I think he's a HUGE dork in a HUGELY HOT BODY!!! (yes, I am yelling!) However, now that he is the bachelor, he is really growing on me. He's not a huge dork 100% of the time like they edited him to be last season. Maybe just, like 85% of the time. :)

Anyway, I digress. Just thought I would throw my impressions of the girls out there. Here are my top three and then the rest are in no particular order.

Numero Uno: Tenley - Yes, she's a bit fragile, but she's so cute and sweet. She has the innocence about her that is a good match for Jake. Not much more to say. Definitely my favorite.

Numero Dos: Ali - I like her. I really like her. She's down to earth and really looks great in yellow! Lol! However, I don't see a lot of chemistry between them even though Jake keeps talking about it. It was so sweet when they were on their 1 on 1 and he said he was having "a moment" unlike any he had ever had though. He must really feel a connection and that's all that matters!!

Numero Tres: Vienna - I know. I know. Nobody really likes her, but I do! She seems a bit immature (the comment about wrecking cars the first night was a big turnoff), but now that they have shown more of her, she doesn't seem so shallow. I think Jake will like her innocence, like to take care of her, and she's pretty fun-loving too!

Elizabeth: There's something about her I just don't like. Maybe it's the horrible boob job. Maybe not. She was kind of a bitch and somewhat condescending with Vienna last night. I think the no kiss policy is going to come back to bite her in the ass too. I mean, come on, really?? REALLY??? She seems too...ugggh...can't think of the word...oh! Got it! Too calculated. What do you think?

Corrie: I wish we could see more of her. She seems nice and real, but who is she really? I think she's my number 4 choice.

Ella: Just a doll. (or doll face as Jake would say *gag*) Just not right for Jake IMHO. Agree?

Gia: I like her, but she doesn't seem like she goes with him. You know what I mean, right? Haven't you ever seen a couple together and just thought. WTF? They just don't look like they go together, right? But she's still in my top 5 or 6 choices for him.

Kathryn: She's okay. Seems like she doesn't want to step on anyone's toes, but that won't get her a rose. (hey - I rhymed!) :)

Ashleigh: Meh. Not much to say. She was cute in the hot tub scene the way she was laughing at Jake, but that's about all I remember about her.

Jessie: This is so, so mean, and I'm not usually mean, but.....let's just say I have a hard time looking at her. So I know nothing about her. Bye bye.

Valishia: Seriously, what is up with this chick? She's a homemaker? What does that even mean? I'm guessing divorced with kids collecting a nice little child support check. However, there is NOTHING wrong with her from what I can see. I am just nosy and dying to find out how the heck she can be a "homemaker".

Michelle: OMFG. Crazy. Psycho. Stalker. Beotch. She has got to go! Although she is good for the entertainment value every week. Maybe he should hold on to her a bit longer......

Okay, so what do you all think? Cause, like, I have so many readers.

And don't say that you think I have too much time on my hands or I am too vested in this show. I know all that. It's pathetic.

Hello? Anybody out there?

Just thinking of maybe starting this up again. Does it really matter if anyone is reading?

Yes, we are

Second trip to OK. Caught in another horrible, torrential downpour. This time my car hydroplaned. Thank goodness we made it okay and didn't hit the "cliff" wall. Ugggh. So glad we won't be making this trip again.

I'm tired of it already.

Are we travel-jinxed?

We are in Oklahoma visiting T-Man. I'd like to be jumping for joy, but instead, I am sitting in the hotel room with Bubba and his 102 fever. What is up with all the sickness this summer while we are traveling???? (see Disney post)

Trixie got sick just as we were leaving...poor thing was in the car for 10 1/2 hours that day while fighting a 102 degree fever too! Then she had to ride another 4 1/2 hours the next day still feeling under the weather.

Now Bubba has it.

We all got in our swimsuits and left the hotel to go to a really cool looking water park this morning. Stopped by Walmart across the street from our hotel so we could get some sunscreen and a few other things. By the time we left there, Bubba was in tears and hanging all over me. I'm such an idiot! At breakfast this morning he asked to sit on my lap. WTH? He's almost 10, and trust me, he never does that. I should've known then he was getting sick. Okay, well, I did, but I was in denial.

Now Princess & Trixie are down in the hotel pool with their daddy, while I sit up here with Bubba who is sleeping after his dose of ibuprofen.

This stinks. We only have today and tomorrow.

Looks like it's not gonna be much fun. :(

I Miss Him

Well, my new reality is here. Yippee.

T-Man is gone, and will not be home with us to "live" for the next 18 months. He may be home for a few days at the end of July, and maybe he'll get leave when he's in Afghanistan, but I doubt that would be any sooner than March or April next year.

I miss him so much already.

Bubba will be 11 1/2 (he's almost 10) and will be halfway through 6th grade. He just finished 4th. T-Man will miss 2 of his birthdays.

Princess will be 9 1/2 (she's almost 8) and will be halfway through 4th grade - the grade Bubba just finished. She just finished 2nd. T-Man will miss 2 of her birthdays.

Trixiebelle will just be having her 4th birthday. 4TH!!!!! She's just a 2 year old baby right now! He should be coming home right around her birthday...hopefully he will only miss one, not two.

Wah, wah, wah. I can't deal with it. It sucks.
